Retreat~Relax~Rejuvenate   
Every Tuesday night, all ages would gather around my grandmother’s huge dining room table usually doing ceramics, but all sorts of projects. She would carve a slice from this big hunk of clay she kept in her fridge for us little ones to mold and create whatever we wanted while the women would practice their painting skills with fine delicate stokes on various pieces they purchased from the ceramic shop. Then my grandmother would fire it in her kiln and we could not wait will the next week to see the fantastic paint colors we had chosen. My house showcases many of those pieces today! Those Tuesday nights were more than art, they were discussions, opinions, funny work stories, advice, and topics that made me who I am today. The experiences they shared are things I share at the Urban Craft Center today. The Urban Craft Center is meant to replace that table at my Grandmother’s house.

Our LocationHuntsville, Texas is located 70 miles north of downtown Houston and 170 miles south
of Dallas, about an hour from
Bryan/College Station just off I-45.
We are within walking distance to the Town Square, the Sam Houston Memorial Museum and
Sam Houston State University Campus. 
There are many museums in Huntsville as well as great restaurants and antique stores.
